The Asiedu side reside in Larteh Akuapem, and the Asifo side of the family reside in Abiriw Akuapem. There is a third side that reside in Manfe Akuapem.
The root of the family is Jadum.
Jadum grandson is Gyadu Nkansa the great who together with Offei Agyeman of from Gyakiti agreed and brought the Akyems to help drive away the Akwamu.
This resulted in the founding of Akuapem.
Gyadu Nkansa younger brother Kwame Asiedu married a Royal from Osu Kenkawe when the people of Osu were residing at present day Osudoku.
Kwame Asiedu went with the wife when the Osu people migrated to the coast through Abokobi, Kwabenya, Achimota to the present location.
Kwame Asiedu had three boys who upon their father's advise relocated back to Akuapem at a time he was too old to travel.
Kwame Asiedu's eldest son Gyadu Anim Kwabena married a royal from Abiriw. Gyadu Anim had three daughters and a son.
For good relation with the father-in-law he named his son after him, thus Asifo. The first daughter of Gyadu Anim was called Abena Korantema
Kwame Asiedu's second son Asiedu Kwaku stayed at home and married in Larteh. He also had three daughters and a son.
The name of his son is Asiedu-Young Kwabena. The first child of Asiedu Kwaku was Akosua Anyorkor.
